Burglary Suspect Arrested After Wild Pursuit
DOVER, Del. (CBS 3) ―
Delaware State Police have arrested a burglary suspect following a pursuit on Saturday evening.
Just after 7 p.m. Saturday a trooper parked on US 113 near Bowers Beach Road clocked a vehicle for traveling 85 mph in a 55 mph zone.. When the trooper stopped the car and made contact with the driver, he was given what he believed was a false name. The officer was returning to his cruiser to check the information when the suspect sped away.
The driver, later identified as James T. Guinn, 20, led police on a pursuit through several yards on Barretts Chapel Road striking a retaining wall and losing control before eventually being stopped by police.
Investigations revealed the Guinn was wanted for a domestic burglary which occurred on June 5th of this year.
Guinn was charged with several offenses as a result of the pursuit including, resisting arrest, reckless driving, criminal impersonation and numerous other traffic offenses. He was arraigned and committed to the Department of Correction after failing to post bail.
