Public Housing Building Imploded In West Philly

PHILADELPHIA (CBS 3) ― A public-housing high-rise in West Philadelphia was imploded Sunday morning.

Mantua Hall was imploded at about 8:40 a.m.

The effort is part of the Philadelphia Housing Authority's continued effort to replace public housing towers with more traditional townhouse developments.

Work is expected to begin next year on a new low-rise community at the site.
