Havertown Home Invasion Under Investigation
HAVERTOWN (CBS 3) ―
Police are
searching for suspects in a frightening home invasion in an affluent
Philadelphia
suburb Thursday night.
Authorities said the break-in occurred at a home in the 300 block of Ellis
Avenue in Haverford at about 10 p.m.
Police said the 47-year-old home owner was lured outside by a woman claiming
to have car troubles.
Once outside, four men attacked the male victim, striking him in the head
with an unknown object. After a struggle, the suspects restrained the victim
inside the home using the electrical cord from a lamp, police said.
Authorities said the suspects tore through the man's home, fleeing with an
undisclosed amount of money.
The victim was treated for non-life threatening injuries at the Hospital of
the University of Pennsylvania.
No arrests have been made. The incident remains under investigation.
