Police have ended their investigation of a reported sexual assault of a young woman near Haverford College on April 13.
The Haverford Township Police Department and Haverford College Security have determined that the incident was fictitious and falsely reported.
The statements were determined to be fictitious and the physical evidence found at the scene was determined to have been fabricated by the student.
The victim, a Haverford College student, told security officers she had been sexually assaulted by an older white male wearing a long sleeve shirt and gloves.
Police said the victim believes that she lost consciousness during the assault and when she awoke, the suspect was gone.
The suspect apparently told the victim he was armed with a gun, but she said he never showed the weapon.
The investigation of this alleged incident has been closed and the results turned over to the Delaware County District Attorney's Office.
The name of the female student making the false report currently is not being released.
