Police said a second suspect has been charged in the brutal attack of a Geno's Steaks employee last December.
Authorities said 21-year-old Michael Morrison of Berwyn, Pa. surrendered to authorities Monday on charges of criminal conspiracy, attempted murder and related offenses.
Another suspect, 19-year-old Kevin Bacci of Devon, Pa. was taken into custody on January 24 in connection with the December 27 assault. Bacci is facing charges of attempted murder, aggravated assault and related charges.
The two suspects allegedly were involved in the assault of 32-year-old Tony Chestnut outside the infamous cheesesteak spot on S. 9th Street.
Chestnut said he was power washing outside when he noticed two males verbally harassing a fellow employee at about 6:30 a.m.
Chestnut confronted the two men, one of whom allegedly picked him up and threw him to the ground several times. Chestnut said he was knocked unconscious and suffered several broken bones, a fractured vertebra and a loss of hearing after the assault.
Bacci is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on Thursday.
