Two brazen thieves are on the loose in Chester County wanted for snatching women's purses.
Police said the suspects target women who work in stores, and grab their belongings from employee office areas.
Katelynn Hunt is one of what police fear is a growing number of store employees who have been victimized while at work.
On December 28, Hunt finished her shift at the Pier 1 Imports store in Exton and noticed something was strange about her wallet.
The 22-year-old's check card was stolen and police said the thieves went on a spending spree with her card and drained her back account. Hunt said the thieves spent close to $850 of her hard-earned money.
"My concern is I'm sure there is more victims, there is definitely more victims out there," said Detective Scott Pezick of the West Whiteland Township Police Department.
Detective Pezick said the thieves, a male and a female, have targeted six women in the past three weeks. Police said the female suspect has distinctive two-tone color hair style.
Police said the thieves struck two employees at a Party City, and hit two stores inside the Exton Mall.
The suspects, according to police, often head to the back employee office area of the stores and rummaged through the women's purses while the employees are working.
"They are in an employee area of the store, if they are encountered back there, what are they going to do, and if they are encountered with the credit cards, what are they going to do to get away," Detective Pezick wondered.
Police said the duo has made at least $7,000 in illegal purchases and have attempted to use stolen cards at the King of Prussia Mall and stores in Philadelphia. Police believe they are traveling around in a four-door silver Dodge Charger.
