80 Arrested In Sweeping City Drug Busts

PHILADELPHIA (CBS 3) ― A total of 83 people were arrested after narcotics officers made sweeping drugs bust across Southwest Philadelphia.

Officers displayed the items they seized during a news conference late Wednesday evening.

According to police, nearly $250,000 in various drugs as well as $340,000 in cash were confiscated.

In addition, three vehicles and 13 weapons and ammunition were seized.

"Today we took a lot of bad people off the street, one of them even being a 73-year-old whom we arrested for narcotics violations in April, he's back at it again but this time a little harder and a little stronger," Chief Inspector Teri Clark said.

No officers or suspects were hurt during the sweeping busts.
