Woman Charged In Major Child Porn Bust

Allegedly Had Sexual Encounter With 10-Year-Old

PHILADELPHIA (AP) ― A woman charged with helping tape pornographic videos of children also engaged in a sexual encounter with at least one young girl herself, federal prosecutors said.

Dorothy Prawdzik, 43, of Drexel Hill, was one of two women charged last week with helping John Worman, 39, of Colwyn, make pornographic videos. Worman was charged in a federal indictment with 51 counts of producing and possessing child pornography. Concetta Jackson, 44, of Collingdale, also was charged in the indictment.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Michelle T. Rotella said in a court filing Monday seeking to revoke Prawdzik's bail that she had taken part in a sexual encounter involving Worman and a girl who "was approximately 10 years old at the time ... when she was forced to participate in those sex acts."

U.S. District Judge Lawrence F. Stengel is expected to consider the bail-revocation request at a hearing Thursday. Prawdzik's lawyer, Steven G. Laver, said he had not reviewed the allegation with his client and declined to comment.

Worman, who was held without bail and had not been assigned an attorney, was scheduled for a detention hearing Thursday.
