Pa. Couple Charged With Attacking Parking Officer

UPPER DARBY, Pa. (CBS 3) ― A Delaware County parking officer was allegedly attacked after she wrote a couple a ticket for illegally parking their car.

Dijon Prince, 22, and Ashley Dacons, 20, were arrested following the incident on Ludlow Street in Upper Darby on July 5.

Police said Prince and Dacons attacked Kalliopi Maroulis because she wrote them a $15 parking ticket.

According to Maroulis, the car driven by Prince was parked in a no-parking zone and Dacons was waiting inside the vehicle.

Maroulis said she told Dacons that she needed to move the car, but said Dacons cursed and attacked her when she tried to place the ticket on the windshield of the car.

"She opened the door, she hit me with the door, she's coming out, she punched me in my face and she pushed me, I fell down and that's why I broke my hand," Maroulis explained.

Maroulis said she began to fight back, but when Prince returned to the car, she said he started punching her in the head.

The couple fled the scene after the altercation with Maroulis' ticket book, but they were captured by police a short time later.

Prince and Dacons remain behind bars and are facing simple assault, aggravated assault, harassment and criminal mischief charges.
