New Information In Disappearance Of Area Couple

PHILADELPHIA (CBS 3) ― New information has been released in the disappearance of an area couple who were last seen leaving a Philadelphia bar nearly three years ago.

Mount Laurel resident Danielle Imbo, 34, and her companion, 34-year-old Richard Petrone of South Philadelphia mysteriously vanished after a night out at Abilene's on South Street the evening of February 19, 2005.

No trace of the couple has been found since they were last seen in Petrone's black 2001 Dodge pickup.

CBS 3 has learned investigators believe two were victims of a murder-for-hire plot.

"As a result of the three-year investigation and all of the leads we have followed up and pursued, we are now classifying this as a murder-for-hire investigation," said Jayne Challman with the F.B.I.

Further details were unavailable.

Petrone's pickup truck has never been located. Imbo, mother of a 2-year-old son, was last seen wearing a jacket and cream-colored sweater. She is said to have a tattoo of flowers on her back.
