I-95 Reopens After Ethanol Spill

PHILADELPHIA (CBS 3) ―

An accident involving an ethanol tanker truck shut down portions of I-95 in Philadelphia. According to authorities, the accident occurred as the truck was traveling in the right lane of I-95 north bound in Bensalem, Bucks County

According to authorities, the accident occurred as the truck was traveling in the right lane of I-95 north bound in Bensalem, Bucks County.

The driver was unable to control the vehicle as it lost tire pressure and the truck flipped on its side.

The contents of the truck began to leak on the road creating a hazmat situation which subsequently closed the highway in both directions. 

According to authorities, a hazmat team was been dispatched and clean up efforts continue as the roadway has opened.

The four mile stretch of highway between Academy Road and Woodhaven Road was closed..
