Bryn Mawr Driver Nearly Crushed By Falling Tree
BRYN MAWR, Pa. (CBS 3) ―
A Montgomery County woman narrowly escaped tragedy after a tree snapped and fell onto her car Monday morning.
Angela Sammens was looking for a parking space for her friend's funeral when the tree came crashing down near the intersection of Merion and Lancaster Avenues in Bryn Mawr.
The falling tree obliterated her vehicle except for where she was sitting behind the steering wheel.
"The glass was all over the place, the side of my head I could not move because of the roof had come down," Angela said.
As crews feverishly worked to cut away the tree, a paramedic called into the car and heard Angela responding back.
"We are grateful that God has saved her," Angela's husband Wendell said.
Angela, who suffered bruises, called her husband and daughter during the ordeal to let them know that she was OK and survived.
"My prayer every morning for my family is that God would send his war angels to camp around about my family and all this is I think is the war angels holding up that car and keeping that head protection around my wife," Wendell said.
