Boy Scouts Rescued During Delaware Co. Canoe Trip

BOOTHWYN, Pa. (CBS 3) ―

A group of Boothwyn Boy Scouts are recovering after trip on the Brandywine Creek led to a daring rescue Sunday night.

Heavy weekend rains are said to have caused the larger than normal swells on the Chadds Ford waterway prior to the Scouts' trip Sunday morning.

The fast moving waters sent a canoe carrying several Boy Scouts into low hanging brush, stranding them on the Brandywine Creek.

Rescue crews were able to quickly reach the 12 trapped scouts. Two of boys were taken to Crozier Chester Hospital for minor injuries.

The incident happened a few miles from where fast moving waters swept away two brothers during a kayaking trip.
