Serial Robber Targeting City, Suburb Businesses

PHILADELPHIA (CBS 3) ― The manhunt continues for a suspect police believe is responsible for robbing at least 16 businesses in Northeast Philadelphia and Bucks County at gun-point since the beginning of the year.

Police said the robbery spree began at a Dollar Tree on Frankford Avenue on January 6. Since the initial incident, the same suspect is believed to have struck 15 businesses from Kensington to Port Richmond and up to Bristol, Bucks County. The most recent robbery occurred at a Subway store in Feasterville.

Police said the suspect struck two businesses inside the same Bristol Township shopping center.

Authorities said no one has been injured during any of the incidents, but the risk of violence grows with each additional robbery.

"Since he came back on April 10, he now carries two guns," said Philadelphia Police Capt. Jack McGinnis. "He's getting pretty aggressive. We think that he could end up hurting somebody."

The suspect is said to be approximately 6' tall, has green eyes and speaks with a light Spanish accent.
