Del. Man Arrested For Sexual Assault Of 9-Year-Old

NEWARK, Del. (CBS 3) ― Police in New Castle County announced a man has been arrested in connection with the sexual assault of his girlfriend's 9-year-old daughter over the weekend.

Newark Police said 27-year-old Armando Rodiquez is facing charges of second degree rape after allegedly sexually assaulting the young girl on Sunday.

Authorities said the young girl awoke find the suspect in her room with his hand inside her pajama pants. She kicked the suspect in the face before running to get her mother, according to police.

The mother took her daughter from the home and contacted police. The young girl was taken to Christiana Hospital to be examined.

Rodriquez is being held at the Young Correctional Institute on $50,000 bail.
