Raid Closes Lehigh County Puppy Mill
LEHIGH COUNTY, Pa. (CBS 3) ―
The Humane Society and the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture shut down a Lehigh County puppy mill and rescued approximately 250 dogs from unsanitary conditions.
The Bureau of Dog Law Enforcement went into the "Almost Heaven Kennel" on Tuesday afternoon and removed all of the dogs due to the owner's failure to appeal his recent license de-listing.
The dogs were found in dangerously small pens and many of them were suffering from skin and eye infections.
The Humane Society is providing assistance and overseeing sheltering and transport for the rescued animals.
Once at the shelter, the dogs will be checked by a team of veterinarians and given any necessary medical care.
