CBS To Air Special On Greatest Super Bowl Ads

MIAMI (CBS) ― While millions of football fans will tune into the Super Bowl to watch the Colts and Bears battle it out, it's the commercials that will keep fans in their seats during breaks in the action.

With advertisers paying $2.6-million for a 30-second commercial, they are banking that this years crop of ads will have viewers talking about them around the water cooler Monday morning.

"There's probably no other show on network TV that if you took the commercials away from the show the ratings would go down," says Super Bowl Executive Producer Bob Horowitz.

The commercials are such a revenue generating cash cow that CBS has decided to produce a show about them titled "Super Bowls Greatest Commercials 2007."

Viewers have voted for which of their favorite classic commercials should face off against perennial Super Bowl commercial favorite "Mean Joe Green" for this year's title.

The most voted for commercial will be revealed during the Super Bowl's Greatest Commercials 2007 special and east coast viewers will be able to vote online to determine the final title holder.

The final results will be announced at the end of the special.
