Newark:
Newark's Liberty Day Festival runs from 4 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Saturday. You'll find food, crafts, entertainment and more topped off at dusk by what Newark calls "the region's most amazing fireworks display." Rehobeth:
Join the 80,000 who gather to watch fireworks from the boardwalk and shoreline of Rehoboth Beach Saturday. At 8, a band will play popular contemporary music at the Bandstand. Fireworks begin around 9:25 p.m. After the fireworks, the Funsters will perform at the Bandstand. Shuttle service from Del. 1 will bring people into town from 5 to 8:45 p.m., and these shuttles will run again after the fireworks.
Smyrna:
The annual Smyrna Clayton July Fourth Parade will be Saturday at 9:30 a.m. in Clayton. Parade judging will take place on Main Street; trophies will be given out at approximately 1:30 p.m. at the bandstand in Smyrna Municipal Park. Fireworks will be set off at dusk at the Little League Field, but the best place to watch is probably Municipal Park on North Main Street.
Wilmington:
Celebrate freedom and independence in the historic City of Wilmington at the 2008 Independence Day Freedom Celebration. There's fun for the whole family. So much to do and fireworks, too! Held from 4:00 to 10:00pm at Tubman-Garrett Park, Wilmington Riverfront. This year's event features Radio Disney's High School Musical Dance Party, the All-American Baby Contest, the American Tribute Symphony Concert, First Night Wilmington's artificial ice skating rink, children's activities, and the fireworks finale at 9:30pm.
