Two men have been arrested in connection with the theft of Lance Armstrong's bike, according to authorities.
The Sacramento Police Department says 39-year-old Lee Crider and 34-year-old Dung Le have been charged with the theft of Armstrong's time trial bike and three other bikes that belonged to Team Astana just before the opening leg of the Amgen Tour Of California.
The bikes were stolen out of a locked truck parked in an alley between 15th and 16th Streets near L Street on Sunday, February 15, authorities said.
Dung Le turned in Lance Armstrong's bicycle to the Sacramento Police Department on February 18. Two days later, detectives served a search warrant at Le's home, where evidence was found that allegedly linked Lee Crider to the theft.
Detectives say they obtained evidence that Crider stole the bikes in a crime of opportunity, and sold one of the bikes to Le. The other bikes have not been located.
Le was arrested for allegedly knowing that the bike was stolen when he bought it. Crider was charged Tuesday with the theft of the bike.
