Philadelphia Flyers center Danny Briere is suspended for two games for his hit on Avalanche defenseman Scott Hannan during Monday's game at Colorado.
The National Hockey League announced the suspension Tuesday.
Flyers General Manager Paul Holmgren says he's disappointed but looks forward to having Briere back in two games. Briere says he respects the decision and will try to move on once he's back.
