Former New York Yankee Jim Leyritz was arrested in Fort Lauderdale for alleged drunk driving and his connection to a fatal traffic accident.

Former New York Yankee Jim Leyritz, 44, was in custody in Fort Lauderdale Friday on suspicion of driving under the influence and contributing to a traffic accident that resulted in one person dying, according to the Broward County Sherrif's Office.
Fort Lauderdale police report that a crash happened at 3:30 a.m. involving a Burgundy Ford Expedition and a Montero driven by a woman who later died at Broward General Medical Center.
The accident happened at SW 7th Avenue and 2nd Street by the Performing Arts Center.
Police say Leyritz is held in suspicion of DUI.
