3 On Your Side: Innovative Products

PHILADELPHIA (CBS 3) ― Have you ever tried a new product that worked so well you just had to tell someone about it. 3 On Your Side's Jim Donovan looks at a few items that the experts at Good Housekeeping liked so much, they've given them awards.

Some new products make you wonder, "why didn't anyone think of this before"? So the folks at Good Housekeeping are recognizing a few of them as VIPS, or very innovative products.

"And we give those to products that solve problems, perform very well and, of course, are very innovative," said Carolyn Forte with Good Housekeeping.

Among the winners, Bissell's Versus Bare Floor vacuum. It's V-shaped head got into hard to reach corners, under baseboards and around furniture legs. The Scotch Fur Fighter was tops too.

"What's unique about the Fur Fighter is that it has these thin, disposable sheets that are actually little rubber finger grippers that hold on to the pet hair and pull it out of your upholstery," said Forte.

And if you're tired of replacing clothes that fade after too many washings, Good Housekeeping says Tide Total Care is the solution.

"This tide has a unique formula that keeps clothes looking newer, even after repeated washing. Here's an example of a shirt that we washed fifteen times, and you can see that one washed in tide total care looks brand new whereas the one washed in the competitor is really faded and has lost its color," said Forte.

The Tide Total Care detergent is available in regular formulation and he-or high efficiency. So you can use it in all types of washing machines.
