OREFIELD (CBS 3) ―
Rob and Amber are fans. So is Rupert and even Jeff Probst.
CBS 3's Liz Keptner reports the stars of CBS's Survivor managed to make it out in the wild thanks to the help of a couple of local working moms.
For Lehigh Valley sisters Lisa Guth and Kris Eckenrode, managing busy households and running a successful business is no easy feat, but it is their reality.
"Just trying to find the balance between our family life and building a business we're thrilled about that we can pass along to our kids," Guth said.
They started their business, "Hip Chix" 6 years ago and now it is booming. Already they have is a fast selling catalogue and line of jewelry and accessories, but for the past 8 seasons, Hip Chix has also catered to the castaways of Survivor.
"Several months before the show is aired, CBS will send us a confidential email with the island, logos, colors for the buffs," Guth said.
Hip Chix is the exclusive licensee for jewelry and accessories for Survivor. Tune into the show and you'll see contestants wearing hats, backpacks, t-shirts and sarongs made by the Hip Chix.
Each season, host Jeff Probst even wears a Hip Chix designed necklace.
Despite their involvement, the sisters were unable to divulge any secrets for the next season.
"We can't tell you where it is, the colors or any of that good stuff. We can tell you to watch it. We love it, we're fans of it," said Eckenrode.
The pair is currently very busy with their new home decor line on QVC.
They may survive on little sleep, but the sisters they still find time for lots of love and time with their kids.
