3 On Your Side: Woman Gets Replacement Grill

PHILADELPHIA (CBS 3) ― All they wanted was to grill out, but they ended up with their meal in flames! It's the lastest case tackled by 3-On Your Side.

While grilling out this summer Mary Ann Mucci's new grill suddenly went up in flames. She says, "It was on fire, everything was on fire." Her dinner was ruined and Mary Ann says the grill was left unusuable. "It was all charred, all burnt. the tray that held the grease was all warped."

Mary Ann was concerned that the grease trap wasn't deep enough and may have been to blame, so she contacted the manufacturer, Brinkman. She sent them photos and they promised to investigate. But when weeks passed, she thought she was getting a runaround and called 3-On Your Side.

When we contacted Brinkman they promised us they'd look into her complaint and right away they indeed took action. According to Mary Ann, she got a call from a Brinkman representative. Mary Ann says, "She got the grill picked up and a new grill all boxed up was returned to me!" Making it another a 3-On Your Side problem solved.

Now there is no way to determine what actually caused the fire, but the company tells us they replaced the grill because the complaint wasn't handled in a timely fashion.

It's always important when trying to handle a complaint on your own to keep good records of who your dealing with. That way if someone drops the ball, they can be held accountable.
