3 On Your Side: Your Money Bus
PHILADELPHIA (CBS 3) ―
As our economy continues to suffer, people are taking a closer look at their financial situation.
Whether you're trying to curb spending, reduce debt or maybe re-balance your 401k, sometimes you need expert advice.
3 On Your Side's Jim Donovan shows us how a special bus tour is helping to provide just that.
The
Your Money Bus is traveling Nationwide. It's goal, to let you know what you can do to improve your financial outlook.
The National Association of Personal Financial Advisors TD AMERITRADE Institutional and Kiplinger's Personal Finance Magazine joined forces to provide some free advice.
Your Money Bus made a scheduled stop in Old City Monday, staffed with financial experts like Alan Shapire, who says the current economy has many people worried.
"Obviously there's a lot of turmoil going on financial markets, and we're here just to talk to people, help them answer questions they may have," said Shapire.
Throughout the day people like Jaime Villagomez stopped by to ask questions and get answers on everything from 401k's, credit card debt and finding new ways to save.
"Trying to wonder what the best way to be able to save for the future when you don't seem to have enough for today," said Villagomez.
Vince Ross drove all the way from Brigantine New Jersey to catch today's event and to take advantage of the free advice.
"I think it's scary in many ways, for the average person. I think you need advice, especially with what's going on and where do you get it, you should get it from professionals," said Ross.
On Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the
Your Money Bus Tour will stop at 30th Street Station.
And Tuesday evening, it will make a stop at the Plymouth Meeting Mall.
