N.J. Hay Fire Extinguished After Several Hours
PILESGROVE Twp., N.J. (AP) ―
State police say firefighters have extinguished the flames that scorched about 1,000 hay bales on a southern New Jersey farm.
Officials don't know what sparked the fire in a field near Route 40 in Salem County's Pilesgrove Township. State police say the cause is under investigation.
The fire was reported around 1 a.m. Tuesday and was declared under control more than seven hours later.
Approximately 19 fire companies were called to the scene.
No one was injured.
