Salem Student Arrested For Bringing Gun To School
SALEM, N.J. (AP) ―
Authorities say a 17-year-old Salem High School student brought a handgun to school and pointed it at another student before fleeing from the building.
He was arrested a short time later. No one was hurt.
The incident happened in a classroom shortly before 10 a.m. Monday.
School officials believe the student who was threatened had been bullying the other student.
Authorities say they recovered a .32-caliber handgun from a wooded area near the school.
The 17-year-old, whose name was not released because he is a juvenile, is facing aggravated assault and weapons charges.
