Prices At The Pump Propel

 Pump Patrol

PLYMOUTH MEETING, Pa. (CBS 3) ― It appears $4.00 gas is now a real possibility as the summer driving season nears. CBS 3 reporter Dick Standish caught up with several drivers in Plymouth Meeting who shared their pains at the pump with the wallet pinching prices.

Consumers on weekend pump patrol say the price of gas went up anywhere from three to five cents in the Delaware Valley. Many drivers say despite the increase they are still traveling this coming holiday weekend.

When drivers were surveyed by Mid-Atlantic AAA more people said they are planning to go on Memorial Day trips than those surveyed last year.

"I think vacations are worth it. Bottom line, you gotta have fun," said Dan Kopzick of Plymouth Meeting.

Betsy Kline of Plymouth Meeting said she is boycotting Pennsylvania gas.

"I will not buy gas in Pennsylvania again for the next 13 weeks because we have a house at the shore."

At the Exxon in Conshocken, gas was $3.29 per gallon for regular unleaded Monday. Several miles away at the Liberty Gas in Plymouth Meeting drivers are paying $309.9, the lowest price in the area.

Liberty Gas owner Al Torsini said, "I think after July 4 and into the fall, certainly we should see some easing of gas prices."
