CBS 3 Hosts St. Patrick's Day Parade
PHILADELPHIA (CBS 3) ―
CBS 3 (KYW-TV) was proud to broadcast the 239th St.
Patrick's Day Parade, the second oldest parade in the country, live,
Sunday,
March 15th, and streamed live on the web for
viewers across the country and around the world on
www.cbs3.com.
The
Parade will rebroadcast on St. Patrick's Day, Tuesday, March 17th,
11:00 a.m to 2:30 p.m. on The CW Philly 57 (WPSG-TV).

Kathy
Orr hosted the parade coverage from the reviewing stands at Eakins Oval
on the Parkway along with
a series of
color commentators from the Irish community. Traffic Reporter
Bob
Kelly will reported the annual spectacle from the Parade route.
More than 25,000 marchers participated in the Parade which
included 24 Irish Dance Schools, marching bands from as far away as Ireland and Connecticut, Irish Social Societies and
various divisions of the Ancient Order of Hibernians.
"We are honored once again to be able to present the
parade both on-air and online so that everyone from the Delaware
Valley to County
Cork can be a part of this great Philadelphia tradition,"
says CBS 3 and The CW Philly President and General Manager
Michael Colleran.
"This is the Super Bowl of Irish pride,"
Michael F. Callahan, President of the
St. Patrick's Day Observance Association, which organizes and facilitates the
event, adds. "The groups proudly display the honor of being Irish, American and
Philadelphians and love to show it off to the city and the surrounding Delaware Valley."
The St. Patrick's Day Parade telecast was presented by IBEW
Local Union 98, and is sponsored in part by the David Auto Group and the
Philadelphia Federal Credit Union.
The CBS 3 telecast of the St. Patrick's Day Parade was
produced by the CBS 3 Programming Department in association with Producers
Management Television (PMTV).
Liz
Naughton, whose credits include the Philadelphia Mummers Parade, serves as
executive producer.
