PHILADELPHIA (CBS 3) ― CBS 3 and The CW Philly 57 are joined together with Cirque du Soleil to offer local performers the chance to appear on television and receive a grand prize – a VIP experience at the latest Cirque action-packed production, KOOZA. One winner was chosen, Lisa Appel of Philadelphia.

Whether it's acrobatics, singing, dancing or juggling, contestants can show off their talents on Thursday, January 24th from 11a.m. to 1p.m. at the Free To Be Expressive casting call. Auditions will take place at the CBS 3 and CW Philly 57's new studios located at 1555 Hamilton Street in Philadelphia.

One lucky winner will be featured in a promotional spot that will air on both CBS 3 and The CW Philly 57. The winner will also receive a VIP Cirque du Soleil KOOZA package when the show comes to Philadelphia in May. The prize includes tickets and backstage passes.

CBS 3 and The CW Philly 57 program and promotion managers will videotape auditions at the studios and review the footage with Cirque du Soleil staff to determine a winner. Contestants should bring a photo ID and picture of themselves to the audition. Photos will not be returned. Applications are available on site and online at cbs3.com.

Cirque du Soleil's KOOZA is an energetic, compelling, funny and slightly provocative show that combines two circus traditions -- acrobatic performance and the art of clowning. KOOZA highlights the physical demands of human performance in all of its splendor, presented in a colorful blend of slapstick humor and storytelling.

CONTEST RULES

CBS 3 (KYW-TV), CW PHILLY (WPSG-TV) and Cirque Du Soleil invite you to be "Expressive" in our "Free to be Expressive" contest. The contest winner will receive the chance to appear on a television commercial and two VIP tickets to Cirque Du Soleil's upcoming show "Kooza" in Philadelphia in May.

1. Overview:

(a) CBS 3 and The CW Philly will hold an open casting call for the "Free to Be Expressive" contest on Thursday January 24, 2008 from 11am-1pm. Performers of all varieties – singers, dancers, acrobats, jugglers, ventriloquists, comedians, etc are invited to attend. CBS 3 is located at 1555 Hamilton Street Philadelphia PA 19130.

(b) All entrants must complete an application including contact information and an acknowledgement that the contest rules have been read and agreed to.

(c) All entrants must have photo identification and leave a photograph with their application.

(d) Each performer will have a minimum of one (1) minute to perform their act in front of the judges.

(e) At the discretion of the station, auditions may be posted to cbs3.com and/or cwphilly.com.

(f) CBS 3 judges including representatives from programming, public affairs and marketing will select the "Free to be Expressive" winner based on the performer's ability (40%), performance (40%) and style/personality (20%).

(g) The winner will be announced by February 29, 2008.

2. Eligibility Restrictions:

(a) The contest is open to residents of Pennsylvania, New Jersey & Delaware who are 18 years of age or older. Employees of CBS 3 (KYW-TV), CW Philly (WPSG-TV), CBS Corporation, Cirque Du Soleil and their affiliates, subsidiaries, production, and advertising agencies and their immediate family members or persons living in the same household are ineligible to participate.

(b) All entries become the sole property of CBS 3 (KYW-TV) and will not be returned. By entering, entrants agree to abide by these rules, and warrant and represent that their entry is their original work, and grant to CBS 3 the right to edit, publish, promote and otherwise use their entries without further permission, notice or compensation.

Entrants indemnify CBS 3, its parent and affiliated companies, and their officers, employees and agents from all claims by third parties relating to rights in the work.

3. Prizes/Selection of Winners:

(a) Decisions of station judges with respect to the contest are final. Judging panel will consist of representative from station's programming, public affairs and marketing departments.

(b) Contest winner will be selected by station judges.

(c) The winner will be scheduled to shoot and appear on a CBS 3/CW Philly commercial announcement on behalf of Cirque Du Soleil. Additionally winner will receive two VIP tickets to Cirque Du Soleil's Philadelphia show Kooza in May 2008. Approximate ticket value is $150 per ticket /$300 total value. Commercial production to be coordinated by CBS 3. Tickets to be provided by Cirque Du Soleil.

(d) All travel and appearance expenses related to the prizes are the sole responsibility of the winner.

(e) Promotional prize is not transferable. Prize may not be substituted for or redeemed for cash. Contest sponsors reserve the right to substitute a prize of comparable value.

5. Conditions:

(a) By participating in this promotion, all performers entering the contest agree to have their name, voice, music or likeness used in any advertising or broadcasting material relating to this contest, and to sign a publicity release, affidavit of eligibility and release of liability prior to appearance.

(b) By appearing on cbs3.com, cwphilly.com and CBS 3 television, participants grant to CBS 3/CW Philly and Cirque Du Soleil the right to use their names, voices, pictures and/or likenesses for purposes of advertising and publicity in any and all media now known or hereafter invented, without further permission or additional compensation (except where prohibited by law).



(c) All expenses on receipt and use of prizes are the sole responsibility of winner. Winner, by acceptance of prizes, agrees to release CBS 3 (KYW-TV), CW Philly (WPSG-TV), CBS Corporation, Cirque Du Soleil, their respective parents and subsidiaries, and their respective advertising, promotion and production agencies from any and all liability, claims or actions of any kind whatsoever for injuries, damages or losses to persons and property which may be sustained in connection with the receipt, ownership or use of the prize or while preparing for, participating in, and/or traveling to any prize-related activity.

6. Contest sponsors reserve the right to make changes in the rules of the contest, which will become effective upon announcement.

7. No purchase necessary. The contest is void where prohibited by law.

8. Failure to comply with the contest rules may result in a contestant's disqualification.
