Own A Piece Of History, Spectrum Seats For Sale
PHILADELPHIA (CBS 3) ―
The Wachovia Spectrum closed its doors for good last weekend, but that doesn't mean you can't still enjoy the best seat in the house.
Comcast-Spectacor group says that fans wishing to own souvenir seats from the legendary stadium will be able to order them for a limited time.
"The Spectrum is a very special place for so many millions of people," said Comcast-Spectacor Chairman Ed Snider. "I know how passionate people are about the Spectrum and we're excited to offer our fans a chance to now own Spectrum seats."
On Monday, November 9 fans were able to reserve their very own pair of seats for $395, single seats for $295 and folding chairs from the famed arena for $195.
While the group says there is no guarantee on specific section requests, Flyers and 76ers season ticket holders will have purchasing priority.
In addition to the collectors item seats, fans will also be able to purchase a complete photographic history of the arena and pieces of the basketball court.
The Spectrum wrapped up its 42-year run with a Pearl Jam concert on Saturday, October 31, 2009.
The demolition of the Spectrum is part of a larger plan for a retail, restaurant, and entertainment district at the stadium complex. The project, called Philly Live!, would include unique shops, bars and restaurants. Preliminary plans show a hotel where the Spectrum is currently located.
The target date is fall 2011.
All items can be purchased through
RememberTheSpectrum.com, a portion of the proceeds will benefit the Comcast-Specatacor Foundation, the charitable arm of the Philadelphia-based sports and entertainment group dedicated to improving quality of life throughout the Philadelphia region.
