'Phantom Goat' Captured In Jersey
PATERSON, N.J. (AP) ―
Paterson's "phantom goat" is no longer on the lam.
The animal had eluded capture for 12 days, causing dozens of people to call 911 with goat sightings along the north Jersey city's riverbanks.
But the goat was spotted with its head in a flower pot in a parking lot on Thursday.
The owner of the lot called the goat and animal control officer Kerry Tyler collared it by grabbing its brown and white mane.
Chief animal control officer John DeCando believes the goat was destined for a baaaaad ending on someone's dinner table when it took off.
No one has reclaimed the animal, so Fire Battalion Chief Glen Vetrano will take the goat to his family's Sussex County farm on Saturday.
