Former Philly Elephants Arrive In Pittsburgh

FAIRHOPE, Pa. (AP) ― The Philadelphia Zoo's two female African elephants have arrived at the Pittsburgh Zoo's 724-acre International Conservation Center in Somerset County, Pennsylvania.

The Philadelphia Zoo's two female African elephants, Kallie and Bette, joined Jackson, a male African elephant, at the International Conservation Center - a preservation and education facility with the African elephant as its primary focus.

The decision to relocate the Kallie and Bette to the ICC was based on the center's expert staff and The Pittsburgh Zoo's nationally-acclaimed elephant program.
