Philly SPCA Investigates Possible Animal Sacrifice

PHILADELPHIA (CBS 3) ― The Pennsylvania SPCA is investigating a potential animal sacrifice case in Northeast Philadelphia.

A cemetery on Oxford Avenue and Longshore Street is the suspected location of the sacrifices.

Officials found the remains of several roosters and the head of a goat. The body of the goat was missing and a candle was set up on a gravestone.

"We believe this is a religious sacrifice, there were some candles found also at the location and other paraphernalia," George Bengal of the Pennsylvania SPCA said.

Anyone who might have information on this case is asked to contact the Pennsylvania SPCA hotline at 1-866-601-SPCA.
