Sea Isle City, N.J. - August 21, 2008.
CBS
In honor of the 100th broadcast of the popular summer series "Orr at the Shore," Meteorologist Kathy Orr will be broadcasting live sunrise to sunset and beyond from the Children's Pavilion located on 11th and Boardwalk in Ocean City, New Jersey, this Thursday, August 27 beginning at 5 a.m. in Eyewitness News This Morning through Eyewitness News at 11.
Anchors Liz Keptner and Susan Barnett, as well as Consumer Reporter Jim Donovan along with other CBS 3 personalities will join Orr on location at the shore for this special anniversary.
Music will be provided by CBS 3's sister station, 98.1 WOGL, playing the greatest hits from the '60s, '70s and '80s. The Greater Philadelphia Tourism Marketing Corporation will also be bringing a little bit of Philly to the shore with wristbands and other giveaways from its With Love, Philadelphia XOXO campaign and a special sand sculpture.
Commenting on the milestone, Orr says, "One of the things I have learned is how truly fortunate we are to have the Jersey Shore. Everyone I talk with has a favorite shore town and great memories. In our area it is family tradition whether it is for a day, a week or the summer. There is no place like it and it is ours to enjoy, pass on and protect."
The "Orr at the Shore" series first debuted in 2003. In 2005, Orr received the New Jersey Governor's Tourism Award in 2005 for promoting New Jersey as a world-class destination.
"Orr at the Shore" is sponsored by Morey's Piers & Beachfront Waterparks in Wildwood, New Jersey. CBS 3 (KYW-TV) is part of CBS Television Stations, a division of CBS Corporation.
