Orr At The Shore: Wildwood, N.J.

WILDWOOD, N.J. (CBS 3) ― Wildwood was named the best beach vacation spot along New Jersey's coast by tourists and residents. CBS 3's Orr at the Shore segment kicked off the season in Wildwood on May 22, 2008.

"Hello from Wildwood" ... a postcard view of the board walk in the 60's. Another postcard from 1927 shows when wooden boards were first built at one our favorite seaside resorts.

By mid-century, Bill and Will Morey Sr. began leaving their mark on Wildwood history.

This summer, Morey's Pier Amusement Park begins its 40th season, and over those four decades, shore goers have ridden the legendary King Kong, crept through the haunted house, visited the Planet of the Apes and cooled off in Raging Waters.

Today the doo-wop style of the 50's, Victorians, condo's and amusement parks blend together over more than a century, which brings us to this Memorial Day Weekend in Wildwood.
