Elderly Man Killed In Long Beach House Fire
LONG BEACH, N.J. (AP) ―
An 86-year-old man died in an early morning house fire in Ocean Thursday.
Firefighters were called to 60th Street and Long Beach Boulevard on Long Beach Island just after 4 a.m.
Authorities say Joseph Bizzarro was bedridden after having suffered a stroke. His home health care worker, 50-year-old Dalia Sukaitien, tried unsuccessfully to rescue him. She was treated at a hospital and released.
Deputy Chief Michael Mohel of the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office says the cause of the fire in Long Beach Township is unknown. Mohel says it does not appear to be suspicious.
