Freight Train, Car Collide In Delaware
BEAR, Del. (CBS 3) ―
A Delaware roadway was blocked for hours after a collision involving a several vehicles and a freight train early Tuesday morning.
Chopper 3 HD was over a railroad crossing along Route 71 in Bear where a Norfolk Southern train struck a Hyundai just before 6:45 a.m.
Police said the driver of the Hyundai, 48-year-old Carolyn Hunte, did not immediately notice the activated railroad crossing signals. Police said a Subaru prevented Hunte from backing up, leading to the collision.
No injuries were reported. Hunte is expected to be cited for failing to stop at a railroad crossing.
