Delaware Man Charged After 5 Hour Standoff

GEORGETOWN, Del. (AP) ― Delaware State Police say a man from the Georgetown-area has been arrested after he fired a gun during a family dispute, starting a five-hour barricade.

Police said Monday morning that 48-year-old Warren Exline was charged with reckless endangering and terroristic threatening. He is being held at Sussex Correctional Center.

On Sunday afternoon, Exline and his family were fighting at his home on Governor Stockley Road. Police said he threatened to harm himself and then fired a shot in the house, causing his family to flee.

Five hours later, police say Exline left the house peacefully and was taken to a medical facility for evaluation. Police say he was charged after he was released.
