PHILADELPHIA (CBS 3) ―
Eyewitness News Anchors Susan Barnett and Chris May welcome British royalty to Philadelphia as hosts of Diana: A Celebration, a look inside the stunning exhibition now on display at the National Constitution Center. The half-hour special will air Tuesday, October 27, at 7:30 p.m. on CBS 3 with a second broadcast on The CW Philly at 10:30 p.m.
Diana: A Celebration captures Princess Diana's elegance and majesty through never-before-seen photos, compelling interviews with Diana's brother and a tour of the Althorp estate in Great Britain. Home movies from Diana's childhood, rare jewels, personal letters and the memorable wedding gown are a few of many historical artifacts explored throughout Diana: A Celebration.
CBS 3's Anne-Marie Green and Pat Ciarrocchi will join Barnett and May to unfold the mystery and wonder that was Diana's life. Her story is told most notably through the people who knew her best. Barnett interviews Charles Spencer, Diana's brother, to chronicle the life of "The People's Princess." Local artist Nelson Shanks, who became a close friend and confidant to the princess, sits down with May to recount painting Diana's official portrait that now hangs in her family's ancestral home. Other noteworthy contributors to the special include Tina Brown, author of The Diana Chronicles, and Mary Robertson, close friend of Diana and author of The Diana I Knew.
Diana: A Celebration is produced by Christina Hagegeorge. Rich Edwards serves as the executive producer. Mike Henry is the editor for the special.
Diana: A Celebration will be rebroadcast throughout the run of the exhibit at the National Constitution Center. Due to the extraordinary interest in the exhibit, the special will also be broadcast in numerous markets including New York (WCBS-TV), Boston (WBZ-TV), Pittsburgh (KDKA-TV), Baltimore (WJZ-TV), Harrisburg-Lancaster-York (WGCB-TV) and Wilkes Barre-Scranton (WOLF-TV).
