A plane on which
presidential candidate Barack Obama was a passenger accidentally
clipped another small aircraft while taxiing at Midway International
Airport early Saturday morning.
An
Obama campaign representative told CBS Radio that a GulfStream II jet
bumped a parked Cessna while taxiing on the runway at Midway
around 2:30 a.m. The plane was headed in from Las Vegas.
There
were 12 passengers on the GulfStream jet, including Obama. The
aircraft landed safely, but as it approached the parking area, its left
wing clipped the right wing of the parked Cessna, according to Chicago
Aviation Department spokesman Gregg Cunningham.
No one was injured. Obama was on board, but he said he did not even feel the bump.
There was minor damage to the wings of both aircraft.
The National Transportation Safety Board and Federal Aviation Administration have been notified of regarding the incident.
