Let's Go Cheap: The Crayola Factory
EASTON, Pa. (CBS 3) ―
The Crayola factory in Easton, Pennsylvania is less of a factory and more of a playground, featuring all things Crayola.
"If you are expecting a factory you might be disappointed. But we do have actual equipment," said Susan Kiefner of Crayola.
Crayon maker Charlie Doherty uses that equipment to make nearly 1,200, some of which you can make yourself.
But Crayola is much more than just crayons.
"We have model magic, finger-paints and we even make Silly Putty," Kiefner said.
Where else can you write on the walls and not get in trouble!
"You get to do the projects and make the mess. We clean up afterwards for you," Kiefner said.
Tickets to the Crayola Factory are $10 and children under 2 get in free.

The Crayola Factory opened its doors in 1996 in Easton's Two Rivers Landing, which also houses the National Canal Museum. The attractions draw as many as 300,000 visitors per year. The Crayola experience is the center floor in a three-story brick building that is cohabited by the National Canal Museum and the Two Rivers Landing Museum (one of 12 being built at prominent canal landings).
