'La Ronda' Mansion Meets Wrecking Ball

BRYN MAWR, Pa. (CBS 3) ― A Montgomery County landmark met the wrecking ball on Thursday morning as demolition crews began bulldozing 'La Ronda,' an 80-year-old mansion with 51 rooms.

In June, a community discussion was held and the Lower Merion Commission issued a 90-day delay for the decision on whether or nor the "La Ronda" mansion would be preserved.

Lower Merion township officials had hoped to save the mansion by brokering talks between the new owner and a Florida developer who wanted to move La Ronda.

However, the talks fell through and now the mystery buyer plans to build a new house.
