Collingdale police are investigating an auto accident in which a female driver crashed into three homes and overturned her vehicle.

According to investigators, an officer traveling on Springfield Road witnessed a vehicle speeding in the opposite direction. When the officer turned around to stop the vehicle for speeding, the car had already crashed into three homes and come to a rest overturned on the 1000 block.

Police say the 29-year-old female driver required extraction that took a total of 2-hours. She was rushed to The Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania where her condition is unknown.

The identity of the driver has not been released at this time and no charges have been filed.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
