Bag Of Clothes Causes Scare In West Chester

WEST CHESTER, Pa. (CBS 3) ― A suspicious package discovered in West Chester Tuesday afternoon turned out to be a bag full of clothes.

It was the second day in a row that the bomb squad was summoned to the center of town.

On Monday, investigators found an improvised explosive device inside the Mosteller Garage located at 14 East Chestnut Street.

Police were once again called to the same general area Tuesday after reports of a suspicious package. Bomb squad members in full gear moved in and found the item was actually a bag of clothing.

Three other packages labeled suspicious were also found on Monday and detonated by the bomb squad, but investigators said they did not appear to be explosive.

The incidents remain under investigation.
