N.J. Unemployment Up Slightly

TRENTON, N.J. (CBS 3) ― Unemployment in New Jersey inched up two-tenths to 5 percent in April. That matches the nation's jobless rate.

The state Labor and Workforce Development Department says the state added 1,000 jobs last month.

There were gains in the business and professional, health services and education sectors. Manufacturing, construction, trade, transportation and utilities lost jobs.

Meanwhile, the state revised March employment figures. Instead of adding 1,000 jobs, the Garden State lost 100 jobs in March.
