Dentist & Grad Student Arrested In Pa. Sex Sting
BENSALEM, Pa. (CBS 3) ―
Police in Bucks County said an undercover online sex sting led to separate arrests of a Philadelphia graduate student and a New Jersey dentist.
Bensalem Police said 44-year-old John Lackner of Cherry Hill and 24-year-old Arun Kurikote-Antony, a Drexel graduate student, are facing charges of attempted statutory sexual assault and related offenses.
Both men believed they were making arrangements to meet with a 14-year-old girl via an online chat, but they were actually speaking with an undercover police officer.
Kurikote-Antony, who is in the country on a student visa, was arrested on February 16 when arriving at a predetermined meeting place with condoms in his pocket, investigators said. He is currently being held on $200,000 bail and must surrender his passport if released.
Police said during Lackner's arrest Tuesday, officers found a pair of toy handcuffs in his vehicle. He had apparently been engaging in online conversations with undercover officers since January.
He is being held on $1 million bail.
