N.J. Man Admits To Stabbing Mother, Burning House
MOUNT HOLLY, N.J. (AP) ―
A New Jersey man has admitted fatally stabbing his mother, then setting fire to their house with her body inside.
Forty-nine-year-old Robert Anderson of Willingboro pleaded guilty Friday to aggravated manslaughter and aggravated arson. Under terms of his plea agreement, he faces 28 1/2 years in prison.
Sentencing is set for Jan. 29.
Police arrested Anderson on Jan. 20, a day after the body of 70-year-old Jestie Mims was found in her charred house.
Police say Anderson bound and stabbed his mother after she confronted him about selling her laptop computer.
