A.C. Officer Stabbed During Arrest
ATLANTIC CITY (CBS 3) ―
An Atlantic City police officer is recovering after being stabbed during the arrest of a sexual assault suspect Tuesday night.
Police arrived at a home on North Hartford Avenue at about 11:15 p.m. to arrest a suspect wanted for the sexual assault of an 11-year-old.
The suspect, 32-year-old Camilo Moro, resisted arrest and began to struggle with the officers, police said.
Officer James Miltenberger, an 18-year veteran of the force, was stabbed in the right arm during the altercation. He was rushed to AtlantiCare with non-life threatening injuries.
Moro is facing charges of aggravate assault on police, possession of a weapon and related offenses. The incident remains under investigation.
