New Jersey Senator Diane Allen Battling Cancer

PHILADELPHIA (CBS 3) ― Former Channel 3 anchor and veteran New Jersey Senator Diane Allen acknowledged Monday she has been diagnosed and aggressive form of cancer.

According to Senator Allen's office, she has been exploring treatment options and could undergo surgery as early as this week.

Senator Allen said she is thankful for the outpouring of support she has received and is "humbled" by everyone's concern.

"It's impossible to express how grateful I am for their outpourings of caring, support and love," said Allen.

Allen has asked for prayers for a healthy return to Senate and asks that the privacy of her family be respected during this difficult time.
